Help A Neighbor in Need This Thanksgiving
Early October is kick-off time for the Friends & Family Community Connection (FFCC) 2018 Thanksgiving Food Drive to help local families in need. If you have friends at school, work, church, scouts, teams or in your neighborhood that would like to put together a food drive, now is the time to start. The flyer and list below outline what is needed by the deadline of November 7th. If you or your group decide to collect other foods, not just the seasonal foods listed, we welcome those too!
Last year, because of many wonderful supporters, FFCC distributed 919 Thanksgiving food bags to households through our local connections. Many San Diegans in our region work hard but cannot cover all their expenses, and the FFCC helps select those families in need for your support. This is a way to reach out and say, “We know you deserve a nice holiday meal you can cook at home with your family.” It’s a great time of year to enlist community participation that will result in a fun and successful project to help so many neighbors!

List of non-perishable groceries for Friends and Family Community Connection:
- Cranberry sauce (canned)
- Canned corn
- Canned sweet potatoes/yams
- Canned green beans
- Gravy (canned, jar, or mix)
- Small bottle of cooking oil
- Stuffing mix
- Cornbread mix
- Aluminum foil
- OPTIONAL: Gift cards $15-$25 to Stator Bros or Vons for turkey and fresh food items
ALL donations are tax-deductible!
PLEASE – no expired or open food items.
Option to drop off your groceries before November 7th to The Church at Rancho Bernardo – 11740 Bernardo Plaza Ct. Open Mon-Thur 9-5pm, Friday 9-1pm, and Sunday 8:30-1pm.
